Community Safety

10/24/2022

Greetings neighbors,

A motor vehicle is stolen every 39 seconds in the United States and a vehicle theft has recently hit Chestnut Hills. One of our Chestnut hill neighbors along Tanglewood has reported her nephew’s car was stolen from her driveway either last night or this morning. Please stay vigilant and use common sense when parking and exiting your vehicle. Remember these tips:

  1. Never leave valuables in your vehicle, especially where they can be openly seen.
  2. Never leave your keys in your car or car running unattended.
  3. Close & lock all windows and doors of vehicle.
  4. Be mindful of your surroundings.
  5. Report any unusual activity.

This also leads to keeping our neighbors and buildings safe. It is important that we close our garage doors when we exit the garage and not leave to doors up.  We would not want a neighbor to be attacked coming into their garage or have any items stolen or taken from the garage. Make sure that you do not leave the entry doors ajar for any reason. It is our responsibility to follow the covenants outlined in our bylaws. Our buildings are secured entry buildings. Visitors must be buzzed into the building to gain entrance. Reminder to always keep your keys on you as to not get locked out. It is the responsibility of all neighbors to secure doors if we see them unsecured. Please be mindful and respectful to all neighbors and our safety.  This is not only for your safety but for the safety of everyone in the community.
